The Operating Barrel Car No. 3562-1 are the BLACK varieties of this car. First issued in 1954, the car would have the date "NEW 5-54" written on the sides of this car that would be numbered "35621," and this would be the only year that this car was available. The barrel car used a vibrator located in the car to unload the barrels into a No. 160 Unloading Bin, or the No. 362 Barrel Loader with the use of an OTC Lockon that was included with this car. This first edition of this car lacked the bracket tab that prevented the random unloading of the barrels when the car was not in use. This car came with bar-end trucks equipped with magnetic couplers, six barrels, and an unloading bin. |
The Operating Barrel Car No. 3562-25 are the GRAY varieties of this car. The barrel car used a vibrator located in the car to unload the barrels into a line side bin with the use of a 6019 or UCS track section. |
